Free Christmas EP: Christmas at Farlow Drive
My sisters and I got together one Saturday morning month or so ago to try and get some Christmas tunes recorded. It was hard for all three of us because we can be perfectionists, and this EP is far from perfect. Nevertheless, we’ve decided to blast it out there for your enjoyment. So enjoy, and feel free to spread the word!
Josh Garrels on Love
Josh Garrels’s take on love. Really dig this.

A music video I helped shoot in my parents home of my sisters and their friends. It was a jolly good time. We shot with two Canon 7Ds + a Canon 60D. We used my homemade dolly for a few of the shots. Elisa Platillero did an excellent job with the edit.
Cereus Bright (Nov. 4, 2011)
Cereus Bright show. Nov. 4, 2011 at Remedy Coffee.
Cereus Bright + Art + Magic
November 4th. You’re going to want to be at Remedy Coffee in the old city. Cereus Bright (featuring my sister) will be performing. Scott Johnson will open the show, to be followed by Jordan Bernardini, the illusionist. Artwork and photography will be exhibited by some of Knoxville’s finest (if I do say so myself, and I do).
Exhibitors include:
- Brittany Fray
- David Angel (that’s me!!)
- Rebekah Angel (that’s another sister!)
- Erin Grimson
- Abbie Holt
I’m pumped about this for all sorts of reasons. It’s a bit of a family affair, and it looks like there will be a ton of inspiring work to peruse.
RSVP on Facebook.

Amazing Grace
Here’s a little something I threw together this evening. I’ve been messing around with that silly chord progression for a while. Anyhow, Grace truly is amazing. Learn more about the song, and it’s author, John Newton, here.
The Civil Wars at The Pilot Light
On February 22, The Civil Wars played at The Pilot Light in Knoxville’s Old City. The small venue was packed tightly. Lacey and I were literally the last two people to make it through the door around 7:45pm. Two hours and 45 minutes later, John Paul White and Joy Williams took the stage
The duo has a fun, passionate, and humble presence on stage. They’ll tell you how lucky they feel to just be there, and then blow your mind and make you feel the same. Their amazing harmonies are accompanied only by a minimal (but delish) amount of instrumentation, primarily from one of John Paul’s guitars.
This was my first time seeing The Civil Wars live, but I really hope it wasn’t my last. They are a joy to catch live.
I also shot video of a couple of their songs:
Country Road – Paula Fuga Cover
I was messing around with my guitar/recording equipment this evening, and I told myself I’d post something, even if it wasn’t perfect. So here it is, my not so perfect cover of Paula Fuga‘s “Country Road.” Enjoy.
“We’ll Meet Again” – Vera Lynn Cover
I was messing around with my recording equipment a few days ago and I decided to post a little video to YouTUBE. It’s a cover of Vera Lynn’s We’ll Meet Again. She does a way better job, so be sure and check her version out too.
